Subject to approval at the next meeting, Committee Minutes for 2009 season...
HAYFIELD MANAGEMENT MINUTES: FRIDAY 4th SEPTEMBER 2009
Present: Dave Dunford (DD), Steve Farmer (SF), Chris Heard (CH), Bill Higginbottom (BH), Phil Hopwood (PH), Glenn Reynolds (GR), Christian South (CS), Jack Worthington (JW), Ian Webster (IW), Lorna Young (LY).
Apologies: Tom Miller, Tom Jarvis.
TREASURER'S REPORT
The ledger balance is -£1101. IW reported a quiet couple of months with around £1000 in both income and expenditure since the last meeting [23rd July]. Commemorative clothing sales have raised £1067 to date.
FUNDRAISING REVIEW
150th Anniversary Booklet
Sales have raised £745 to date, though some monies may be outstanding from sales in pubs and other outlets not yet passed on. IW proposes a trial selling copies door-to-door on Kinder Road with wider coverage elsewhere if successful. JW would like existing stocks of the booklet to be stored in the Pavilion; PH indicated that this would not be a problem.
Stall at Sheep Dog Trials
It was suggested that the price might be reduced to boost sales at the Sheep Dog Trials. Andy Robinson will supply mannequins as before to display commemorative clothing. CH would also like to sell second-hand cricket gear and proposes a sweep of any kit left lying around the pavilion. LY to notify Juniors and Ladies teams, IW to notify 3rd XI via Tony Coverley. Senior Captains to ask 1st and 2nd XI players to remove any personal items of kit from the Pavilion. CH would like volunteers to man the stall on a shift basis, and circulated a rota.
Bonfire
Andy Robinson is too busy to co-ordinate the Bonfire single-handedly and has asked for assistance. SF agreed to co-ordinate construction of the bonfire; BH will help source the firewood. Tony Richardson will arrange fencing off of the bonfire site and conduct a Risk Assessment. Drinks and mulled wine will be provided, to be arranged by Andy Robinson, Lorna Young and Tony Richardson. It was noted that mulled wine was a good seller and ran out last year, so increased quantities should be made available. Help will be required on the morning of the event (Saturday 6th November) to build the bonfire.
Summer Ball
If only indoor tables are used at the Sycamore, 94 places will be available; if a marquee on the outside decking is added 124 places could be available at no net additional cost if all the additional seats are sold. Around 70 seats have been provisionally allocated already. Menu choices need to be made in advance.
Sportsmen’s Dinner
Around 6 tables have been reserved so far. BH to discuss prizes with Paul Coverley.
Christmas Raffle
BH proposes supplying each person (including Junior parents) with £10 worth of raffle tickets to sell. The tickets will be available in early November and the draw will be held on Sunday 20th December.
JUNIOR MATTERS
DD read out an email from TM regarding Winter Nets, which have been arranged for both before and after Christmas at New Mills Leisure Centre. Mike Hendricks will be offering a fast bowling clinic, and it was suggested that other clubs might be invited to participate, for a fee. Bill suggested that Nets should be available to U15s before Christmas, and to U15s and older players in the later sessions, TM and BH to discuss arrangements for Winter Nets.
CH raised the issue of Junior Selection and suggested that a written Policy for Selection might be a way forward.
WOMEN’S SECTION
Lorna reported that the Women’s Pub 6-a-side was still planned (weather permitting) for Sunday 13th September. Several additional teams have expressed an intention to take part. IW to liaise with Colin Cooper over provision of a PA. Umpires and scorers will also be required.
LEAGUE MATTERS
BH expressed his congratulations to CS on the 2nd XI’s success in the Hawke Cup Final.
BH has expressed the Club’s dissatisfaction over the arrangements for rain-affected matches to the League Executive and much discussion had ensued.
The League Dinner is scheduled for Friday November 20th and CS indicated that a number of 2nd XI players intend to attend.
GROUND REPORT
Steve Middleton has expressed his willingness to take on more ground duties.
BH asked John Bancroft to look over the ground with a view to short-term amelioration of the drainage problems on the square. He suggests a thorough scarifying at either end and the installation of drainage pipes, at an estimated cost of £1150. If this proves insufficient to solve the problem, raising the square might be the next option (for which a Consultant’s Report would be needed to qualify for ECB funding). There was a general consensus that the initial work was necessary and worthwhile; BH/IW/JW to draw up a balance sheet. CH suggested a special fund-raising event (e.g. another event with music from the Beachcombers) with the specific aim of funding this work.
CH suggested combining the Juniors’ end-of-season get-together with a work party to tidy the ground for the winter, on September 27th, with the Club to provide bacon sandwiches etc. to encourage attendance. Senior Captains to notify players.
ANY OTHER BUSINESS
Online Communication
DD noted that he did not have access to email addresses for members and friends of the club. DD to liaise with IW and Jane Atkinson and to take on the maintenance of the Club’s email contact list unless Jane objects.
CH and CS had suggested that the Club should set up a Facebook group for the Club. DD to pursue.
1st and 2nd XI Selection
SF asked about the possibility of and mechanism for proposing a rule change, citing concerns about selection policies affecting 2nd XI players selected for the 1st XI. BH explained the mechanism. A vigorous discussion of aspects of 1st and 2nd XI selection followed.
Len Simpson memorial
The family of the late Len Simpson have suggested that they would like to institute a memorial – BH invited ideas; a small bursary for Junior players was a possibility (perhaps offered to the best under-11). TM and BH to discuss this idea.
Date of next meeting: TBA
Meeting closed 8.30pm.
Dave Dunford 5th September 2009
HAYFIELD MANAGEMENT MINUTES: THURSDAY 23rd JULY 2009
Present: Dave Dunford (DD), Chris Heard (CH), Bill Higginbottom (BH), Phil Hopwood (PH), Tom Jarvis (TJ), Glenn Reynolds (GR), Christian South (CS), Jack Worthington (JW), Tom Miller (TM), Ian Webster (IW).
Apologies: Paul Coverley, Steve Farmer, Lorna Young.
TREASURER'S REPORT
IW reported that finances are healthier than this time last year and the Club is close to breaking even. This is mainly down to reduced expenditure on ground and equipment. IW presented Income and Expenditure figures for the 150th Anniversary Celebrations, and outlined a budget to 01/01/10.
FUNDRAISING REVIEW
150th Anniversary Celebration
BH commented that the Family Fun Day has been a great success; much positive feedback has been received. Bill extended his thanks to Lorna Young on behalf of the Club for all her hard work.
Book Sales
Approximately 137 of the 1000 commemorative books have been sold. Copies have been sent to various ex-players and it was mentioned on Test Match Special.
Clothing
Ch reported that we have already broken even on sales of commemorative clothing and further stock has been purchased. Stock will be moved from the Pavilion to CH's house while he is away. CH showed samples, and provided a price list, for various options for players' kit. He would like to know numbers required by the players and will bring samples to the game on Saturday.
Unsold stock (and commemorative booklets) will be sold at the Sheepdog Trials - CH requested assistance manning the stand. Volunteers to contact Chris please.
FUTURE EVENTS
Summer Ball, Friday 25th September 2009. CH reported that posters have been produced. There are 122 places at £55 each (profit £10 per head), on 12 tables (of which 4 or 5 have already been sold). Chris encouraged Committee members to sell tables where possible, with monies to be paid by 1st September. Menu selections will need to be made in advance. Captains were asked to mention the event to players, and junior parents are also to be approached. There will be music and entertainment, and a raffle, but no auction. The management of the Sycamore have offered free champagne in exchange for an advertising sign at the ground.
Sportsman's Dinner, Friday 6th November: BH reported that the speaker will be Henry Olonga (ex-Zimbabwe), and a comedian has been booked. Tickets £30 per head. Four of ten tables have been sold already.
Bonfire, Saturday 7th November: to be co-ordinated by Andy Robinson. CH would like to purchase £368.87 worth of drinks left over from the Hayfield PTA Barbecue: agreed.
JUNIOR REPORT
TM reported that reasonable numbers are attending practices, with welcome assistance from parents, but there is still a lack of coaching experience among the supervising adults. TM requested that 1st and 2nd XI players might attend on Saturday mornings. Coaching weeks for the U11s and U13s have been arranged.
TM commented that selection is still not working well. TM, BH and non-playing captains will have a meeting to discuss options.
WOMEN'S TEAM
BH noted the Women's XI's victory over Lullington. The Ladies' Pub 6-a-side was rained off; the likely date for the reorganised event is Sunday 13th September.
GROUND REPORT
GR, BH and PH to meet before the end of the season (GR apologised for not being available to help with the ground as much as he would like; BH acknowledged PH's generous assistance).
BH suggested the Club might consider levelling and drainage work on the square, and will seek advice from potential contractors. PH reported that the scoreboard has been repaired. JW suggested advertising for paid assistance with the ground.
LEAGUE REPORT
Following the withdrawal of Romiley CC, there will be only 22 clubs in the League next season. Various options have been proposed. BH favours 12 teams in Div 1 and 10 in Div 2 and this solution seems likely to prevail.
The League Dinner will be held at Edgeley Park, Stockport, on Friday November 20th.
CAPTAINS REPORTS
BH noted that both senior teams are performing well (1st XI currently 1st in the League, 2nd XI 4th) and congratulated the Senior Captains.
BH would like to see Duty Players taking more responsibility for the ground in future - discussions to take place during the close season.
IW raised the issue of fines for captains failing to report results. This season this has only happened on a couple of occasions (both 2nd XI fixtures when CS has been away).
Captains were asked to chase a few outstanding subscriptions.
Date of next meeting: TBA
Meeting closed 8.30pm.
Dave Dunford 27th July 2009

150th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS
Attendees: BH has written to invite sponsors, ex-players, the Parish Council and the DCCL to the formal opening. Mike Hendricks and the Mayor of High Peak will be in attendance.
Publicity: A press release has been sent to the Buxton Advertiser, High Peak Radio and the Glossop Chronicle. LY to contact Milly for old photos as requested for the piece in the Buxton Advertiser. A photographer from Derbyshire Life magazine is also to attend. LY has supplied flyers to the Girl Guides, Toddler Group and School, and copies were distributed at the meeting to be posted door to door by committee members. Any volunteers for additional help to contact LY (via DD if necessary). LY has also organised a banner for the bypass, and may need help to erect it.
Pub crawl: the proposed pub crawl on Friday 26th has been abandoned. Instead an informal gathering will take place at the George on Wednesday 24th from 9pm. DD to invite current players (via captains) and to ask Jane Atkinson to email the membership.
Booklet: The booklet is at the printers and will be launched at the Family Day. A table will be required for sales. Copies will also be distributed for sale in local pubs, shops etc. A large launch poster is being produced for the Fun Day.
Provisional schedule, Sunday 26th June
The scheduled junior match will be postponed (or switched to an alternative venue) - SF to confirm. The approximate schedule for the Family Day is as follows:
9am: volunteers assemble marquee, awning, sheep race course
10am: organise bar, pavilion, etc.
1pm: official opening for (c.100) invited guests, speeches and presentations in the pavilion. Drinks and canapés to be provided, to be served by older juniors (TR and HH to organise volunteers)
1.30pm: official public opening
2pm: steel band in marquee
2.45pm: sheep race
3.15pm steel band in marquee
4pm: steel band finish

The marquee will be erected near the river. There will be a small can bar available in the marquee for people listening to the band.

The proposed trampolines and assault course will not be present, but various village organisations have been approached re stalls.

CH will organise purchase of drinks - canned lager, wine and spirits, and (TBC) a barrel of commemorative bitter (suggested name 150 Not Out).
HH/BH to ask players with bar experience to volunteer to man the bar.
Other
BH to obtain a book for visitors to sign.
PH to consider the viability of building "stocks".
The fairground will include a refreshment stall (candy floss, burgers etc.) The provider will be asked to donate a proportion of profits. Competition with the barbecue (provided by the Royal) was not considered to be a problem, the feeling being that the additional capacity may well be useful if there is a large turnout.
BH/TM to discuss format and selection for U9/U11 cricket competition.
SF to ask Rio Roche about loan of PA system - Simon and Lee Waddington to compere.
IW to organise betting on the sheep race (and to check for any legal issues).
Commemorative kit
CH has liaised with TJ re commemorative kit for 1st XI; CH also to email CS re 2nd XI.
AOB
The Ladies Pub 6-a-side (scheduled for 14th June) has been postponed as it clashes with a reorganised 2nd XI cup fixture. BH has written to teams to explain and apologise. The first weekend in July was suggested as a possible date for the reorganised event.
Date of next meeting: TBA
Meeting closed 8.35pm.
Dave Dunford 15th June 2009

MINUTES
OF LAST MEETING
The main aim of this meeting was to review progress and remaining priorities for the forthcoming 150th Anniversary Celebrations.
TEAM
MATTERS
Juniors
TM presented a critique of the Club's provision for Juniors, based on his own observations as a parent and other people's reported feelings. Key problems or negative perceptions highlighted were:
· unstructured and disorganised training sessions, especially for younger or less able children
· not enough adults present, particularly those with coaching skills
· lack of progression for, and motivation of, less able players
· perceptions of the Club as elitist, financially motivated, and male-dominated
· lack of efficient dialogue between coaches, junior and senior teams leading to lack of opportunities for players to progress, and talented players being missed by the older teams
BH agreed that such perceptions existed, and that some were justified. TM added that although many parents had initially offered to help, few had actually done so, and some had felt obliged to agree without really wanting to. Lack of confidence among adult helpers was suggested as one reason for lack of involvement. TM recommends more "training the trainers", and mentioned useful websites that highlight core basic skills and appropriate training exercises.
Suggested actions:
· BH to meet non-playing captains/junior organisers and Paul Taylor (coach) to discuss the issues raised; also to canvas parents' opinions
· PC, BH and SF to have an input into Selection Committees regarding juniors
· BH, TM and PC to have a further discussion at Junior Training on May 16th.
· PC suggested that Saturday training might involve mini-matches (e.g. U11 'A' vs U11 'B') to improve motivation, enjoyment and involvement during training sessions
TM circulated the following suggestions after the meeting:
· Increase the amount of hard ball work for those who safely can
· Find ways to increase coaching from the non-playing captains in the coaching. Meet within 2 weeks
· Run with principle that if juniors can play they should play to the best of their ability
· Set up liaison committee to ensure talent is pulled into all teams and selection is based on talent (1st XI, 2nd XI, U17, U15, U13, U11)
· Challenge match U11 'A' vs U11 'B' as part of 150th-year weekend
· Increase squad size for U11? (investigate possibility of U9 team suggested)
150th

HAYFIELD MANAGEMENT MINUTES: FRIDAY 1ST MAY 2009
Present
: Bill Higginbottom (BH), Dave Dunford (DD), Lorna Young (LY), Phil Hopwood (PH), Steve Farmer (SF), Jack Worthington (JW), Ian Webster (IW), Tom Miller (TM), Stuart Brooks (SB), Tony Richardson (TR), Chris Heard (CH).Apologies: Glenn Reynolds (GR)
MINUTES OF LAST MEETING
Approved.
TREASURER’S REPORT
IW reported expenditure of £2810.30 for the month, versus income of £2015. Income from Subscriptions, Membership Plus and Sponsorship continues to arrive, and Ian's feeling was that once outstanding subs and monies from the Beachcombers event has been banked we will be in a similar position to this time last year. Current deficit is £5796.
FUNDRAISING
Beachcombers event, 26th April
The event is expected to have raised around £1300 profit and was considered a great success. BH to write to thank the band, who declined payment beyond expenses. IW suggested that the bar could have been managed better - particularly to prevent people taking drinks away at the end of the night. A permanent presence on the door might also have been beneficial, and checking of tickets could have been better organised, though the proportion of non-paying attendees was considered to be fairly small. The marquee worked well. Although some complaints had been received about lack of notice, BH responded that all players had been notified by letter, and Paul Senior had also circulated an email. CS and TJ (senior captains) were thanked for their attendance and assistance.
Football card
Players were invited to contribute to a football card at the opening games of the season as planned, raising £30 for club funds. Thanks again to captains for organising this.
Sponsored Walk, 19th April
SF was thanked for organising the Sponsored Walk. Seven families attended and around £450 is expected to be raised in sponsorship. It was suggested that Graeme Clarke might consider running some of his regular Kinder Lodge walks as Sponsored Walks on behalf of the Club in future; he may not be willing, but CH offered to discuss this suggestion with him.
Sponsors
Money is still coming in in dribs and drabs - BH and TR to chase outstanding sponsors.
150th Anniversary Booklet
JW reported that the Anniversary Booklet will go to the typesetters on 8th May, and to print at the end of May (by which time pricing and print run will need to have been decided). The issue of photography of junior players was again discussed: most of the photographs will be historical, but pictures of current juniors require clearance from parents. JW to review the final proofs and liaise with TM if any pictures require this. The booklet should go to print at the end of May. Pricing and print runs were discussed; a print run of 1000 would cost about £1750, with around £1200 of this being covered by sponsors. As a rough guide to possible sales, it was noted that the May Queen booklet sells around 500 copies, though this is sold door-to-door. As a one-off publication it was hoped that we could exceed this figure without undue effort.
150th Anniversary Publicity
Publicity was also discussed; Jane Atkinson and Tim Kirton to be invited to the next meeting, which will mainly be concerned with preparations for the 150th Anniversary. Press releases should be prepared well in advance to encourage publicity in local press and media.
150th Anniversary Commemorative clothing
CH presented samples of the planned commemorative clothing. We intend to sell lightweight adult fleeces for around £25, T-shirts (adult and child sizes) for around £8, plus hooded tops for children. Overall profit margin is around 100% on the agreed initial budget of £1000 - subcommittee to finalise colours and exact deployment of investment. If senior players wish to order commemorative kit (as suggested at a previous meeting), the captains should contact CH to discuss requirements and potential demand.
Summer Ball
CH reported that this event, for about 100 guests paying £50 per head, will take place at the Sycamore in late September, at a cost to the club of £40 per head, to be organised by Sheridan Coverley and Jill Heard. An auction will form part of the proceedings.
Sale of second-hand kit
TM suggested that secondhand kit (as proposed for a stall at the Sheepdog Trials in September) might be better sold to current players in June, rather than at the end of the season. TR responded that there was already a system in place for players to sell unwanted kit amongst themselves.
Summer School
It was suggested that last year's Summer School was too cheap and not well enough advertised.
Ladies Pub 6-a-side competition
Provisionally set for 14th June.
Duck Race
BH to distribute Duck Race tickets to captains for distribution at May Queen Festival; junior players to be asked to distribute flyers advertising the 150th Anniversary celebrations at the same event.
TEAM MATTERS
Juniors
TM reported that registration of Junior players had been completed.
Some returning junior players who failed to register at the Signing-on Day are likely to do so at the first training session. Four adults are currently expected to assist with training, but more help would be welcome.
Junior Organisers intend to meet Paul Taylor (coach) to plan Thursday U13/U15 sessions. U11 training sessions on Saturdays would also benefit from more structured organisation and supervision.
TM will co-ordinate collection and payment of junior subs.
TM to leave some signing-in forms at the Pavilion for TR.
GROUND
BH expressed thanks to Tony Coverley for repairs to the covers, though some minor work remains to be complete. Also thanks to PH for assistance with various jobs around the ground. BH and SF plan to liaise with senior captains to arrange more help with wicket preparation and protection (e.g. when and how to cover the pitch).
GR has reported that the TORO mower requires adjustment - an engineer is due on Tuesday 5th May and BH will ask him to look at it.
AOB
The club was fined £40 for non-attendance at a DCCL Executive meeting, due to a misunderstanding between BH & GR.
Date of next meeting: Friday 15th May, 7.30, to concentrate on preparations for the 150th Anniversary.
Meeting closed 8.35pm.
Dave Dunford 5th May 2009
************************************
HAYFIELD MANAGEMENT MINUTES: WEDNESDAY 8TH APRIL 2009
Present: Bill Higginbottom (BH), Dave Dunford (DD), Lorna Young (LY), Phil Hopwood (PH), Steve Farmer (SF), Jack Worthington (JW), Ian Webster (IW).
Apologies: Tom Jarvis, Tom Miller, Christian South, Chris Heard.
TREASURER’S REPORT
IW reported expenditure of £1370 for the month, versus income of £955. Additional spending on the ground and pavilion was to be expected at this time of year, and much of the Signing-on and Membership Plus money is yet to come in. LY suggested that Family Membership at £20 may be a little generous.
JW and family have agreed to write off a loan of £1000 to the club. BH thanked JW for this very generous offer.
FUNDRAISING
BH has sent a letter to all sponsors inviting them to renew for 2009.
IW will be sending out Membership Plus reminders this weekend.
Duck Race tickets will be available later this week.
SF reported a good response to the Sponsored Walk, scheduled for Sunday April 19th.
LY proposed 14th June for the Ladies 6-a-side Pub Cricket event. There was some concern that this might clash with Cup matches if the scheduled matches have to be postponed.
LY requested assistance with the organisation of the Family Fun Day, as Natalie Coverley is no longer able to contribute.
IW noted that Somerfield in New Mills (which is shortly to reopen as a Spar) has Stella Artois and other drinks on sale at discounted prices, which we might take advantage of when stocking up for the forthcoming Beachcombers event, which will include a free bar. BH reported that a fish and chip van (not free!) will also be in attendance.
DD to chase Andy Robinson re football cards for senior teams.
TEAM MATTERS
JW reported that Chapel Photography Club will be attending the first 1st and 2nd XI fixtures of the season to take team photographs for the Anniversary Booklet. The photographers will make themselves known to the team captains on the day.
DD to ask Jacqui Hendrick (DCB Administrator) for a list of previously registered juniors, which we can then update following the recent Signing-on Day. 41 juniors signed on, "mostly not including the teams" (per TM).
BH has prepared a Player's Duty Charter document.
LY asked SF to ensure that a junior match finishes as early as possible on a date when the ladies have two matches to fit in.
GROUND
BH reported a poor turnout for the recent ground maintenance blitz. However only an hour or so's work remains, including repairing the covers, completing the painting of the wall, and some maintenance of the nets. Team captains are asked to pass on a request for assistance. RR has repainted the changing rooms, PH has repaired the spectator benches, and the equipment has been serviced at a very reasonable price. Steve Middleton was thanked for his enthusiastic assistance with pitch preparations.
AOB
Fixture cards have been printed and distributed.
Date of next meeting: Early May, date TBA.
Meeting closed at 8.00pm.
Dave Dunford 9th April 2009
HAYFIELD MANAGEMENT MINUTES: FRIDAY MARCH 6TH 2009
Present: Bill Higginbottom (BH), Chris Heard (CH), Glen Reynolds (GR), Tony Richardson (TR), Dave Dunford (DD), Phil Hopwood (PH), Steve Farmer (SF), Christian South (CS), Tom Jarvis (TJ), Tom Miller (TM), Ian Webster (IW).
Apologies: Lorna & Stan Young (LY/SY), Rio Roach (RR).
Matters Arising from previous meeting: None. BH welcomed the new captains and other new committee members.
TREASURER’S REPORT
IW reported an overdraft in excess of £4000 but stressed that funds should be boosted by imminent influx of Membership Plus and Sponsorship funds. In summary, we should be "concerned, but not worried". BH noted that the figure was affected by unusually high expenditure on the Pavilion last season, and lack of any Summer Ball income. He suggested that if spending is kept to normal levels this year, we should be close to breaking even by the end of the year.
LEAGUE AND SENIOR TEAM MATTERS
There are changes to the rules regarding fielding circles and the last hour of play. Grading of umpires by teams is also to be (re-)introduced.
BH suggested that teams should prepare pitches on the Thursday or Friday before weekend home fixtures; captains replied that they are intending to have weekday nets and can arrange for pitch preparation to take place at the same time.
CS and TJ to attend mandatory Captains/Umpires meeting at Romiley CC on Thursday 16th April.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
Women
No women's rep present, but DD to contact LY for Women's fixtures for Fixture Card.
Juniors
TM has prepared flyers for local schools but was concerned about a potentially unmanageable response. The consensus was that we were unlikely to be overwhelmed. Junior Signing On date was suggested as Friday 3rd April. Sign-on forms (including a waiver regarding photography of children) have been prepared; TM to consult RR. A meeting is required to arrange helpers for Saturday morning Junior training. It was suggested that some of the older juniors (e.g. U17s) should be encouraged to attend - BH to send a letter round.
Ground
BH noted that the ground needs to be cleared; he has prepared a work list and budget. GR is unavailable for a month. A cricket course is being held on the ground on the 4th/5th April and it is hoped we can get everybody to help out to carry out most of the necessary maintenance on that day (rubbish disposal, wall painting, etc.) BH will ask Jane Atkinson to publicise this and captains are asked to mobilise as many players to attend as possible. PH reported on his intentions for repairs to and replacement of spectator benches.
Fundraising
SF suggested a Sponsored Walk - general agreement. Proposed date Sunday 19th April. SF to produce sponsorship forms.
Captains to arrange players' duties and football cards and to encourage players to sell Duck Race Tickets.
BH to write to sponsors re renewal and to discuss board sponsors with TR.
There will be no Men's Pub 6-a-side Competition in 2009.
A Curry Night is proposed (to be arranged by the 3rd XI) - date TBD.
150th Anniversary Events
The main celebrations of the club's 150th Anniversary will take place on the weekend of 26th-28th June.
There will be a ticketed Pub Crawl on the evening of Friday 26th followed by a presentation in the George and a disco in the Pavilion.
On Sunday 28th, starting around lunchtime, a Family Day will be held at the ground, involving a steel band, various stalls, a bar, barbecue, fancy dress, sheep racing etc. Entry will be free but there will be a bucket collection. The Anniversary Booklet will also be launched at this event. It was decided to hold the Duck Race on the same day.
